The National Commission for Data Protection (CNPD) is the independent authority responsible for the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data in Luxembourg.
The decision-making body of the CNPD is a collegial body composed of four members (commissioners).
The term of office of a Commissioner is six years, renewable once.

The candidate must meet the following conditions:
be holder of a university degree leading to a complete cycle of university studies at the level of a master's degree or equivalent recognized diploma allowing access to the higher career of the civil servant of the State;
have proven experience and expertise in the field of data protection;
demonstrate experience in a managerial position and have proven managerial skills, including qualities to manage and motivate multidisciplinary teams;
have a sense of interpersonal skills to represent the CNPD to the outside world, as well as to represent the CNPD at an international level;
demonstrate analytical and writing skills,
have the usual language skills in Luxembourg, including excellent knowledge of French and English,
have Luxembourgish nationality.
Commissioners of the CNPD can not exercise a professional activity or hold directly or indirectly interests in a company or any other organization operating in the field of data processing.
