Nicolas Schmit and Nicolas Hazard meet young beneficiaries of Start&Code

Nicolas Schmit, Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy and Nicolas Hazard, founder of INCO, the first global consortium to promote a new inclusive and sustainable economy, held a press conference at the end of the first Start&Code session.

An innovative programme centred on young people …

Created in 2015 by lNCO and financed by the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, Start&Code is an IT training course focusing on Java language and Android programming.
Training in coding jobs and integration in the employment market are in the hands of Néopixl.

The first group of beneficiaries has just completed six weeks of intensive training. There are more than 90 in the group, mainly selected by the ADEM national employment agency, and they will be supported by Start&Code until the end of 2017. 15% of them are refugees.

At the end of this first session, the Start&Code initiatives to improve the employability of young people facing difficulties in finding a job and the integration of refugees in the Grand Duchy by relying on a booming technology sector were presented.

6zero1, the first incubator dedicated to social entrepreneurship in the Grand Duchy, is supporting the Start&Code project by allowing its premises to be used for the training course free of charge, because the course – by addressing a social issue and supporting job creation – is in line with the values defended by 6zero1.
