Making it easy for citizens to search for laws and find answers with a smart legal database.

Until 2016, Luxembourg’s laws came into effect via print. Today, the process is entirely digital. The government has already cut 75 percent of related costs by designing an internal, completely digital database for legislation. The goal is a legislative search engine where citizens can get smart legal answers by entering a specific question or need.

From paper-based to digital database

The Grand Duchy has already helped established ELI, a common European legislation identifier, to deliver EU-wide, readable open data portals. Once difficult to access, Luxembourg legislation is now just a click away.
